**Playa Flamenca on the Orihuela Costa**

Playa Flamenca is the name of an urbanization and sandy beach in the district of Orihuela Costa within the municipality of Orihuela on the Costa Blanca, in the province of Alicante in the Spanish autonomous region of Valencia. This district is located about 7.5 km south of the port city of Torrevieja on the Spanish east coast. In 2010, Playa Flamenca had a population of 3,001. The urbanization was named Playa Flamenca because the project developers in the 1980s came from Flanders, Belgium.

The municipality borders Punta Prima beach to the north, Las Calas to the west, and La Zenia to the south. To the east, Playa Flamenca lies on the Mediterranean Sea. The N-332 highway runs parallel to the Spanish east coast and crosses Playa Flamenca. To the northwest lies the AP-7 highway. Since 2007, Playa Flamenca has a new boulevard.

**The Beach**

The white sandy beach of Playa Flamenca is part of a series of six beaches in the district of Orihuela Costa. It borders Punta Prima beach to the north and La Zenia beach to the south. The beach is 150 meters long and 16 meters wide. The two sub-beaches, La Mosca and La Estaca, fall under Playa Flamenca, with La Estaca being awarded the Blue Flag for its excellent maintenance and services.

**Accessibility and Amenities**

The municipality is located 25 minutes from Murcia airport and 45 minutes from Alicante airport. The main attraction of this municipality is, of course, the nearby beaches.
