Albir
Albir is the most densely populated region of the municipality of Alfaz del Pi and had 9,505 inhabitants in 2014. Albir is located on the northern Costa Blanca in the province of Alicante, Valencia, Spain. It borders the Sierra Frost and also Benidorm. The population almost exclusively lives off tourism due to its beautiful and extensive beaches. Albir is located on Playa del Albir and has been awarded the Blue Flag. The beach mainly consists of sand and stones. Around the beach and the area of Albir, there are many cliffs, some of which are more than 300 meters high. Albir is situated at an average height of 76 meters, although the lower parts are at sea level. The highest point is more than 160 meters high (Sierra Frost).
Albir is located 2.5 km from the center of Alfaz del Pi and 2 km from Altea. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the population, similar to almost all municipalities in this area. In 2010, Albir had a population of 9,611 inhabitants, of which 4,801 were men and 4,810 were women. The city also has a high percentage of foreign residents, estimated to be 53% of the population of Albir.
