Calpe
Calp (Valencian: Calp; Spanish: Calpe) is a municipality in the Spanish province of Alicante in the Valencia region with an area of 24 km². Calpe is located on the Costa Blanca and has over 27,000 inhabitants. Calpe is characterized by the 332-meter-high rock El Peñon de Ifach, which juts out into the sea and can be seen from kilometers away. The rock is part of a small bird sanctuary.
Calpe is a tourist destination due to its ideal climate. There are numerous apartment buildings along the promenade, as well as cafés, restaurants, and discobars. The surrounding hills have been built up with villas. The old town center remains intact and still contains traces of Moorish rule. Near the center lies the fishing harbor.
